Why Private Training?
Mind Body and Bowl offers Private Training sessions to work with you and your dog one on one in your home, or in other areas, to address behavioural issues or for basic training and obedience. All training involves how to communicate with and understand your dog better. Private training is often a sought after choice for busy families, FIFO or shift workers, households with multiple dogs, dogs that aren’t suited to group classes due to fear, aggression, anxiety, reactivity or hyperactivity, or for puppies with health concerns that need to remain within the home. It’s also a great option for new puppy owners to get started on the right foot, prevent behavioural problems and to address common concerns like toilet training, biting, chewing and settling. Basic Training vs Behavioural Modification
Private Training often splits into two categories; Basic Training (obedience) and Behavioural Issues.
Basic Training usually involves working on skills like sit, drop, leave it, coming when called, leash walking, mat training, jumping, preparing for a baby, and general manners.
Behavioural Modification usually addresses common behavioural problems like:

Our Approach to Private Training
We incorporate a whole pet wellness perspective, as training and behaviour are directly affected by their health, nutrition, physical fitness and activity levels, mental stimulation and their home lifestyle and structure. If any of these aspects of their life are not being adequately met, your dog can quickly develop behavioural problems that impact you, your family and your dog’s quality of life.
We offer programs to suit, tailoring them to you and your dog’s needs and goals. We offer both Coaching & Day Training options, often a combination of the two can be beneficial, accelerating your dog’s progress.
Coaching
We work with you one on one (or with additional family members) coaching you and your dog through the skills and behaviours in your dog’s private training program. We are essentially teaching you, how to train your dog. This helps you to learn the skills needed to work and train with your dog on your own.

day training
Using our years of knowledge and professional hand ons experience, we work directly with your dog on the skills and behaviours we are addressing in your program. This is a great option for dog parents who are time poor, not yet confident in their skills or abilities, sick, injured or have physical limitations, or even those who would like a jump start to their program or a boost along the way. Once we have taught your dog the skills and behaviours required, we then use coaching sessions, to transfer the skills and knowledge to you, so you can continue the process.

Cost & Process
Our private training programs start with an 1.5hr Initial Consultation. During this session, we will clarify any information supplied in your pre-session questionnaire, address your concerns in more detail, observe the dog their behaviour (where appropriate), discuss the goals and the most appropriate training program to suit. Where time permits we will also give you some management and training skills to begin working on.
Following the session you will receive summarised notes of what was discussed and any relevant references, so you can begin the process immediately. We will also provide a tailored support notes for you and your dog, noting the goals and areas to be addressed, instructions for management and skills to work through. Your program may include access to workshops or classes, recommended training equipment, health, nutrition or behaviour support products or references. Where appropriate we may also refer you to other professionals who we may feel be of assistance to you and your dog during the process.
As part of your program, you will have access to our private Mind Body & Bowl Client Facebook group, where you can ask questions, share progress and receive ongoing support from us and other clients.

Additional fees will apply for travel exceeding 5km from our office (Bognor St, Tingalpa) as follows below. Contact us if you are 30km+.5-10km: $10
